Jonny Evans is approaching to take on a role in MU's coaching staff, focusing on the development of young players – the field where he has a lot of experience and deep understanding.
After officially retired from the competition, Evans reached an agreement with MU on the management of young players who were playing on loan. In addition to playing, he also plays a mentor for young players, communicating experience as well as sharing the tradition and value of the club. During the first season trip at Los Angeles last year, Evans spoke emotionally about employees who had to quit their jobs in the club's first personnel cut.
Evans' long -standing experience is considered a valuable asset to be kept at MU – where he won three Premier League championships, two League Cups, 1 Champions League and 1 FIFA Club World Cup in the first phase of wearing the first team. He grew up from MU's young training system, joined the training center at Belfast at the age of 9 and had a first match in September 2007 under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Leaving Old Trafford in 2015, Evans used to wear West Bromwich and Leicester, before returning to MU on the form of free transfer under Erik Ten Hag. Initially, he only received the minimum salary because he was signed a short -term contract. However, with the professional spirit, exemplary style and the peak bravery, Evans has quickly been appreciated and became a support in the collective.
MU believes that Evans is very suitable to make a bridge between the Academy and the first team, helping young players have a smoother transition on the journey to professional.
