MU is playing a long chase game in an attempt to sign a contract with Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo in this summer transfer window. The deal was not as cool as Matheus Cunha on the first day of the transfer, but this made Mason Mount happy.
After signing a contract with Maheus CuHa on June 1, MU's interest in Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo star appeared just more than 24 hours later. It was a signal that MU wanted to quickly carry out the summer transfer campaign 2025, to ease the frustration of NHM after a pathetic season.
But for more than 1 month since sending this striker to Brentford, MU has not reached an agreement with the partner about the Cameroon player, who made it clear that he wanted to move to Old Trafford right this summer. After seeing the £ 55 million proposal in the trash, MU increased the “bet” to £ 60 million a few weeks later. Many people hastily concluded, thus the agreement was nearly completed. However, nearly 2 weeks have passed since then and MU has not been “procession”.
The two sides have not yet reached a complete agreement, although it still maintains the level of confidence that this deal will “collide from drops”. MU wants Mbeumo to sign a contract before entering the training process before the new season. Instead, Diego Leon and Cunha are the only newcomers who are present at Carrington.
MU will go to the United States during the trip before the season later this month and coach Ruben Amorim hopes to complete the majority of the transfer plan before flying through the Atlantic. In fact, that doesn't seem feasible.
MU has given priority to strengthening his attack this summer, and Mbeumo is a good goal. He has scored 20 goals in the Premier League 2024/25, so it will be a great addition. MBeumo is expected to take on the role of 10 right in the 3-4-2-1 system of Amorim because they often kick from the right wing in Brentford. CuHa will operate in the No. 10 role on the left.
Although currently it has not been predicted how MU will put the squad for the opening match with Arsenal next month, Amorim does not lack the choice at No. 10. The appearance of CunHa is expected to push Bruno Fernandes back to the center of the midfield, making Mason Mount, Amad Diallo and Mbeumo compete at the number 10 on the right.
Amad has proven that he is equally effective in the right -back position or No. 10 on the right in Amorim's system, but Mount is limited to a role in this coach's favorite system. Fortunately, Mount was highly appreciated by the Portuguese strategist.
Amorim has praised Mount a lot since coming to MU. He even expressed his admiration for Mount even before the first reception of MU in November 2024. If Mount can recover from injury, the Portuguese teacher will have a plan to make the most of him next season.
If MBEumo moved to Old Trafford, Mount could play frequently on the pitch. But the season was only a month away, and in the context of Mbeumo still nodding, Mount could find herself full of opportunities to take up the competition in the match against Leeds United in Sweden, and try to win a main kick before going to America.
After being repeatedly praised by Amorim and appearing in the lineup in the Europa League final in May, Mount will enjoy the opportunity to become a key player in his third season at Old Trafford, despite the two seasons that are all disasters due to injury.
Therefore, MU is harder to have MBeumo, the opportunity for Mount to become the main player in Amorim's squad.
