Crystal Palace fans marched to Selhurst Park to protest UEFA's decision forcing the team to play in the Europa Conference League.
The southern London team won the right to participate in the Europa League through the unexpected victory in the FA Cup final against Man City in May, but UEFA considered Palace and Lyon as part of the right to own the Club of Eagle Football Holdings Ltd of John Textor. This makes the two teams unable to play in a tournament organized by UEFA.
On Tuesday night, Palace supporters held a protest from the Norwood clock tower to the club's home yard, and hundreds of people appeared to carry a banner and chant the slogan against UEFA.
A banner with content: “UEFA: Bankruptcy of morality. Cancel the judgment immediately”.
Fans of the team also directed clear words into the textor, shareholders were about to leave; Like the owner of Nottingham, billionaire Evangelos Marinakis, when this team is about to replace Cyrstal Palace to play in the Europa League.
The shares of Textor at both Crystal Palace and Lyon have caused this conflict. Although Textor is in the process of selling his shares in Palace to the owner of New York Jets – Woody Johnson, the team missed UEFA's March 1 to prove that they were not involved in the model of owning many clubs.
UEFA Club Financial Control (CFCB) decided that the ownership of textor in both clubs means that only one of them can attend the Europa League, of which Lyon's higher position will surpass Crystal Palace.
Last week, President Palace – Steve Parish criticized UEFA's decision to remove the team from the European second tournament “a bad day for football” and “a terrible injustice”. The BLD team is considering their choices to respond and admit they can appeal UEFA's ruling to the sports arbitration court.
