MU announced the list of 29 players for a friendly match with Leeds at Stockholm tomorrow night (July 19), and there are 9 notable names absent.
Ruben Amorim's team will face Leeds of coach Daniel Farke in Sweden's capital, opening the stage of preparation before the new season. The two rookies Matheus Cuha and Diego Leon were all on the duel list, and will set out on the afternoon of July 18, local time.
If it plays, CuHa will wear the number 10, while Leon will wear the number 30 in the unofficial pubic debut. Diogo Dalot, Chido Obi and Tyler Fredricson were also given a new number of shirts, respectively with numbers 2, 32 and 33.
However, not everyone participated in the trip to Sweden this time. Latest, MU has issued a notice to confirm some remarkable absence.
Goalkeeper Andrre Onana and striker Joshua Zirkzee were not present due to injury. Lisandro Martinez, Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho will not leave, while Harry Amass is likely to be lent so it is eliminated from the playlist with Leeds.
According to Men, center -back Martinez is currently in the process of personal recovery, and is responding well to the treatment of previous ligament injuries encountered in February.
Rashford, Malacia, Sancho and Antony were all borrowed in the 2024/25 season and would most likely break up with MU this summer. Meanwhile, Garnacho is said to have been asked by Amorim coach to find a new stop, amid the attention from Napoli and Chelsea.
After the friendly match tomorrow, MU will leave to the United States to attend the Premier League Summer Series, where they will face West Ham on July 27, before encountering Bournemouth and Everton respectively on July 31 and August 3.
The Red Devils will then return to Old Trafford to receive Fiorentina on August 9, before the Premier League opening against Arsenal on August 17.
