Coach Ruben Amorim has suggested that MU may not recruit a high -class striker this summer, when he put his faith in the two rookie Matha Cuha and Bryan Mbeumo to shoulder the mission to score for the club.
Compared to rivals like Liverpool or Arsenal – the teams who have recruited offensive stars such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike or Viktor Gyokeres, MU's summer transfer window is not very impressive.
Despite bringing two quality players, Cunha from Wolves and Mbeumo from Brentford, the Red Devils still lack a truly classy striker in the squad.
Amorim has recently admitted that MU may not bring any other striker during this transfer – what is causing concerns within the club, because he believes that Cunha and Mbeumo are capable of taking the responsibility of scoring in the next season.
The 40 -year -old military leader also emphasized that existing strikers like Joshua Zirkzee or Rasmus Hojlund need to prove the value if he wants to be given the main kick.
Sharing with the press, Amorim said: “Both (Cute and Mbeumo) can play in the striker position. We have Josh (Zirkzee), there is Rasmus. Our goal is to improve the connection between these players. I don't know if that position is really for them or not. They have to make efforts.
They (CuHa and Mbeumo) have proven their qualities. They are very modest, it is very important, and the best thing is that they choose to come here. They have other options, the Champions League options, they read everything they talk about our club now, but they still decide to choose MU, and that's the key to me. “
MU will play the first friendly match during the US trip tomorrow (July 27), meeting West Ham on MetLife.
