Striker Alexander Isak made it clear to the BLD Newcastle that he wanted to join Liverpool this summer, after rejecting the new contract request from the St. Jame's Park and practice alone.
Newcastle tried to re -negotiate a new contract with Alexander Isak earlier this week, but the Swedish player refused and made it clear that he wanted to join Liverpool before the 2025 summer market was closed.
This information was also transferred by Fabrizio Romano in a recent video that Isak had no intention of signing a new contract with Newcastle, the team refused to blunt Liverpool's £ 120 million transfer offer.
“I learned that he (Isak) said very clearly to Newcastle this week that he did not want to sign a new contract with the club,” Romano updated information related to the future of the Swedish striker.
Because the future is not sure, Isak is forced to practice with other teammates in the Newcastle squad. Isak's contract with Newcastle is valid until June 2028, but the head coach Eddie Howe confirmed that he would continue to practice unless his attitude changed.
“Newcastle tried to negotiate the extension earlier this week, but Isak had no intention of signing a contract and wanted to join Liverpool,” coach Hoewe also provided updated information about Isak's situation on Friday, before the friendly match against Espanyol.
“It was obvious that I couldn't let him join the team at this time. He practiced later than the other members of the team.
He is here, so of course he has a future in Newcastle. In our point of view, we really want him to return to the team, but the situation must be appropriate to happen, “the British strategist added.
On the Liverpool side, the Premier League champion is said to be ready to send a more attractive offer to Isak, but still waiting for Newcastle to allow negotiations. Newcastle tried to recruit a new striker and a potential player to replace Isak, but undergo a disaster summer transfer.
Newcastle has repeatedly tried to recruit new strikers this summer and cared about Ipswich's Liam Delap but was surpassed by Chelsea. The Chu Chu was also robbed by Liverpool's target Hugo Ekitike by Eintracht Frankfurt and the latest Benjamin Sesko to refuse the Northeast team to switch to MU.
