The MU Club has issued updated information about the situation of Sekou Kone, a teenage player who is highly appreciated. Kone was stretched out after a collision with an opponent in the match in the National League Cup with Tamworth.
Kone was seriously injured in the penalty area of the home team in the match of the U21 MU team. This incident caused the match to cancel right before the end of the first half.
The Red Devils posted updates on the club homepage and social media channels on Wednesday night, including positive information after Kone was taken to the hospital for inspection.
“The match in the National League Cup of U21 Man United with Tamworth was canceled near the end of the first half,” the MU homepage reported. “The match was stopped by midfielder Sekou Kone with a head injury in the penalty area of the home team. This young player was brought to the pitch with a stretcher.
The match was postponed while the score was drawing 0-0 after Kone hit the opponent when he tried to break the ball in the air from a corner. The 19 -year -old Mali was initially stood up after falling on the pitch, but the medical staff quickly asked him to lie still to be able to be assessed the situation appropriately.
After that, Kone was treated by medical staff for a while before leaving the field on the stretcher with oxygen breathing through the mask. An ambulance came to Kone to the hospital, where he continued to be treated.
Tamworth Club also issued a statement on Wednesday night to confirm the cancellation of the match and wish Kone all good things: “Due to the health situation, we are forced to cancel the match tonight, details will be revealed soon.”
