Chelsea is facing a deficiency of center -back after Tosin Adarabioyo has to join the health room with Levi Colwill.
The Times reported that the Blues defender Tosin would have to sit out in the match against Crystal Palace. His absence is due to a “small problem” in the training session. Chelsea did not want to risk this 27 -year -old, so he would take a break as a preventive measure.
The reason Chelsea must be cautious is because they did not have the service of Levi Colwill. The mature center -back from the club's training furnace may have to take a break until 2026 after a knee injury surgery during the pre -season period. The absence of Tosin after that, even if it was a very small injury, was also disappointed because he was considered the best replacement for Colwill in Chelsea's squad. Benoit Badiashile is also recovering after injury.
Coach Enzo Maresca clearly stated the desire to have a new center -back, but so far no one has come. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Maresca discussed the physical strength of some other Chelsea centers: “Trev Chalobah is fine. Wesley Fofana can play, we will consider.”
Trevoh Chalobah seems to play the main defense center, a noticeable change when this time last year, he was considered redundant. Fofana, if enough fitness, is clearly another option.
Rece James used to play in the center -back position in the past, although not last season, while young player Josh Acheampong was young but very potential.
