Arsenal received bad news from the star Kai Havertz, when the German player would have to sit out for a while because of his knee injury.
According to The Athletic reported, Havertz did not participate in the opening training session at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday morning. The evaluation is still in the early stages, so the level of injury is still unclear.
Football expert Fabrizio Romano has just updated the situation of the 26 -year -old German: “Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury and Arsenal coaching staff will evaluate the situation in the next few hours. Arsenal is considering recruiting rookie after Havertz's new injury”.
Havertz's injury forced the BLD Arsenal to actively understand the transfer market, to strengthen the attack and compensate for the absence of the German star.
Rookie Viktor Gyokeres is currently the only striker to be confirmed enough and can play in the squad of coach Mikel Arteta. Leandro Trossard, who has just signed a new contract with the striker, even though his starting point is a winger.
Gabriel Jesus, a tested and verified option, is still in the process of recovery after the previous ligament injury encountered in January and is expected to not return in the near future.
This is the second Havertz injury encountered in 2025, after he was torn at the hospital tendon at Dubai in February. This injury caused him to play 18 matches in the Premier League and the Champions League, before returning with 2 times to replace people in the last 2 matches of Arsenal in the English Premier League. During that absence, midfielder Mikel Merino was arranged to play at No. 9.
Havertz entered the field instead of Gyokeres at the beginning of the second half in the opening match of Arsenal's Premier League on Sunday, the match that Arsenal won 1-0 against Man United at Old Trafford. The German player has played 88 times for Arsenal since moving from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, scoring 29 goals.
Arsenal will return to play on Saturday when welcoming Leeds United at home.
