Eberechi Eze is a star of England, but in the past he used to have been witted by Arsenal, Fulham, Reading and Millwall before the age of 18. Now, Arsenal wasted his consciousness to recruit the players that they had been outdated in the past.
Eze grew up in Greenwich in a social housing area and often played football in a small yellow “cage” on one of the social housing areas in that area. When living in a social housing area, there are many different things that can happen when playing football!
Children who used to play football in the place with barbed wire fences. Sometimes the ball hits the barbed wire fence and exploded. By about 6 years old, Eze started playing the right football, in a small community activity. A parent talked to Eze's parents: “You should take my children into this team.”
Eze started playing for Prostars in South London at about 7 years old, then for U8 and U9 teams. That was when he started being given an eye on the team. Eze was tried at different institutes, but when she signed a contract with Arsenal at the age of 9, Eze focused on the academy football.
Eze was at Arsenal until the age of 13 before being discharged, and it was very difficult to accept. Obviously, it was all he knew at that time when he was young. Eze loves football, likes to play for Arsenal and that may have formed his identity at that age.
“I thought: I am and will play for Arsenal. So the moment I was expelled, a large part of my confidence disappeared. It was probably part of the process of maturing in football that people did not really understand,” Eze said.
Therefore, it is very difficult to escape that situation. Without the support of the family and faith in the Lord, Eze did not think she would see everything the way she still did, and probably did not escape that situation.
Within 1 or 2 weeks after leaving Arsenal, other parents took their children to other clubs, so Eze went to Southend to try for a few weeks and were asked to sign a contract there, but his family was not sure if it was the right thing. After that, one introduced to Fulham.
Fulham and QPR coaches, who are very important for a young eze. After 2 weeks in Fulham, he was asked to sign a contract and it was where Eze met Dan Thomas and Kevin Betsy, the coaches were extremely important to him. In Fulham, Eze found those who trusted him and helped him improve. Eze is very grateful for them because they saw something in themselves and passed on that belief to him.
Everything is still difficult – Eze remembered that he had faced Arsenal for a few months after being fired – tears poured out of all the emotions that surged and could not handle properly the feeling of being fired. But he was very grateful for meeting Arsenal for helping him on his journey, helping him to grow and build Eze people today.
The coaches are not merely coaches. These people are people who often talk to Eze now, and he thinks it is a testament to who they are, they have influenced him and his personality.
Of course, they taught and helped Eze make progress as a football player, but they also shaped him a human being. What they have taught and conveyed to him is equally important, and because of that, Eze is definitely grateful to them.
Eze was in Fulham for two and a half years and was later eliminated into Christmas. So Eze has come to Reading to try half a year but not signed a contract. Eze finally signed a contract with Millwall, but again, he was fired 2 years later.
After leaving Millwall, Eze's confidence is very low and is still trying to find the way. But Eze finally signed a professional contract with QPR and had the opportunity to meet Chris Ramsey, Andy Impey and Paul Hall.
Looking back at all the difficulties, Eze really thought that if I could do this, why is no one else? Eze hopes this will be an example for anyone who wants to achieve similar dreams.
