Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are being sold, but coach Ruben Amorim warns that MU will not sell. And if the story fails, Amorim also has a plan B.
Ruben Amorim said he was completely ready to reintegrate into the “redundant” group of MU if these people could not be pushed this summer. Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia were all eliminated from MU's season before the US season in the context of Old Trafford.
MU is under pressure to sell players to help more money to invest in the squad after spending 140 million pounds for Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cuha and Diego León. However, Amorim has announced that this quartet will be given the opportunity to return to the squad if the partners do not meet the price that the Red Devils require.
And Amorim believes that having a World Cup at the end of the next season will ensure that players cannot “strike”. When asked about the importance of Garnacho, Sancho, Antony and Malacia found a new club and MU had money to re -invest, Amorim said: “I think it is not so because there are different reasons for the players. Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team, while other players clearly want a new challenge.”
“We only allow these players to have time to think and decide. If we reach the point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players.”
“I am ready to welcome the players. They will be more competitive, more competitive if you want to play at the World Cup next year, you need to play. So I am really satisfied with it because I have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me, that's perfect.”
Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on a long -term loan and some clubs are interested in other players waiting, believing that MU will have no choice but to sell people at a cheap price.
But Amorim confirmed that MU has a fixed price for each player and opponents will “surprise” if they think they can recruit these players at a cheap price.
“I know these people, Jason (Wilcox, Football Manager), (CEO) Omar (Berrada) and the club, have a specific number for these players.”
“If they do not achieve that level, they will be MU player, there is no doubt about that. I understand the clubs (interest) are waiting until the last minute but they may be unexpected.”
However, MU is expected to accept the price lower than £ 60 million that Garnacho is valued at the beginning of the year. Chelsea, Aston Villa and Spurs are interested in the Argentine winger, who expressed their desire to stay in the Premier League.
Sancho, who will run out of contracts next summer, can be left in the form of loan. Antony attracted the attention from Real Betis, where he had spent last season on loan, along with other clubs, but so far the clubs have not yet accepted the fee of 45 million euros (£ 39 million) that MU has launched in the early summer.
MU will face West Ham at MetLife in New Jersey on Sunday when Amorim promotes the preparation for the new season.
Amorim has not bought any more striker, which is the top priority in the summer, but declared his satisfaction when starting the season with the existing squad. The Portuguese coach was also looking for a defensive midfielder and a new goalkeeper, but warned the club could not make mistakes when signing a contract with unsuitable people.
“I think at this time, we need to be really careful when signing a contract with a player,” he said. “So if we have to start the season with this squad, I'm happy, because all the players here want to be here, and for me, that's the most important thing.”
“Diego is another case, he is a potential player, but with Brian and Matheus, we are clearly a better team.”
