MU's midfielder Mason Mount has recently revealed the goal that he and the whole team are aiming for in the 2025/26 season. According to the British star who played for Chelsea, the Red Devils will try to win tickets to the European Cup as soon as possible.
MU has just experienced the 2024 season when he only finishes in the 15th place in the Premier League chart. Despite reaching the Europa League final, the defeat against Tottenham made the team of coach Ruben Amorim make the audience in the European Cup in 2025/26. This is the second time they have fallen into the sad situation, after the first time in the 2014/15 season.
In an interview on the BBC, Mount said that MU was only fighting in the domestic league next season is not small. So he hopes his team will quickly stand up after a fall. Speaking to the press, the midfielder wearing the number 7 of MU said: “For MU, it is extremely important to participate in the European Cup.”
“Of course, the most prestigious club in Europe is the Champions League is the goal that needs to be prioritized.
“However, as I mentioned above, MU's eyes only wishes to attend the European Cup. I think it would be great if MU returned to the Champions League, but that did not mean that we underestimate the Europa League or the UEFA Conference League,” Mount concluded.
Moving to MU from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for 55 million pounds (not to mention 5 million tables incurred), Mount is about to have the 3rd season for the Old Trafford team. Although MU's consumption a lot of money, Mount's contributions are very limited because he often has to quit playing due to injury. In the previous two seasons, he had only 31 appearances in the highest tournament in England.
