Arsenal has achieved a comprehensive agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign a contract with Viktor Gyokeres with an initial transfer fee of 63.5 million euros with 10 million euros on an extra fee based on performance.
Sporting Lisbon, Frederico Varandas, affirmed that achieving the entire bonus of 10 million euros is relatively easy. His point of view is the majority, namely 7.5 million euros, will be paid in the first two seasons of Gyokeres at the North London team. After many days of negotiation, both sides came to a compromise. The total amount of 10 million euros remains the same, but the bonus has been adjusted for a longer period of time.
According to Portugal's Record newspaper, the revised bonus terms are now associated with both personal and team milestones. Importantly, certain achievements, such as Arsenal winning the championship or winning the Champions League, will only be activated if Gyokeres plays a positive role in those campaigns.
Despite the specific payment term, general contribution or detailed legal terms have not been disclosed, this general agreement meets both Arsenal's budget plans and Sporting Lisbon's request. This is the key to helping this deal after a very long period of negotiation.
With the financial terms that have been completely agreed, Gyokeres is expected to sign a 5 -year contract with the Premier League team, keeping him staying at Arsenal until the summer of 2030. During the transfer process, the Swedish player made it clear that he just wanted to join the gunner, despite the interest from other leading clubs, including Man United.
Gyokeres scored 54 goals after 52 appearances last season, an impressive performance, affirming his position as a top striker. With the Swedish player who is about to put on Arsenal's red and white shirt, fans will eagerly wait to see how quickly he will adapt to the Premier League and how to make a mark.
