Man United's Rasmus Hojlund seemed to have shown his true feelings, before Benjamin Sesko could replace him in the Red Devils's starting squad.
After months of rumors that Man United wanted to recruit a new striker to lead the attack, after a disappointing season from both Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, they finally got a “chosen person”.
Despite strong contacts with Newcastle, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko star is now preparing to join coach Ruben Amorim's team this summer, with a 5 -year contract.
Man United will pay the transfer fee of 76.5 million euros (66.3 million pounds) plus 8.5 million euros (7.4 million pounds) surcharges for the 22 -year -old striker. Sesko will undergo medical examination to complete the transfer in the next few days.
Although Man United has not officially announced the deal, it seems that the players have known about the upcoming appearance of this rookie. Hojlund seems to have expressed his feelings when “releasing heart” of the “Here We Go” post by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Instagram, announcing that Sesko will join the Red Devils.
It is still unclear whether Sesko is immediately played in the opening match of the Premier League against Arsenal at Old Trafford or not, but he is expected to take on the position of striker in most season.
Sesko is the third rookie in the attack of Man United this summer, after Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, bringing the total amount of the Red Devils to the strikers to more than £ 200 million.
However, Hojlund “releasing heart” does not mean that he is willing to give the main kick, when the Danish striker confirms he will continue to fight for his position in the new season.
Hojlund gave the reason why he should hold a spearhead, after opening the score in the 4-1 victory of Man United against Bournemouth in a friendly match in Chicago last week.
“The most important thing for me is to continue to work hard and keep focus, and then we will see what happens,” Hojlund said after the match. “My plan is very clear: I will stay and fight for my position, no matter what happens.”
