Rookie striker Benjamin Sesko joined MU from RB Leipzig for a fee of 74 million pounds, quickly becoming one of the highest paid players at Old Trafford. However, this tall striker does not have the most “terrible” income in the Red Devils.
According to data from Capology, Sesko received a salary of £ 160,000/week, ranked 8th in the MU squad, on a different rookie of the club this summer, Bryan Mbeumo and veteran defender Luke Shaw. This income level is not too high, but shows that the Red Devils tried to control financial after many years of great remuneration that led to when they wanted to push away, it was the first trouble.
The above figure is much higher than what Sesko received in Leipzig when pocketed less than 100,000 pounds/week.
Currently, Casemiro (350,000 pounds/week) is the highest paid player in Old Trafford, followed by Bruno Fernandes (£ 300,000), Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho (with £ 250,000). Matthijs De Ligt (195,000 pounds), Harry Maguire (£ 190,000) and Matheus CuHa (£ 180,000) are also in the high income group.
With a stable remuneration, Sesko promises to become an important piece to help MU compete fairly in the Premier League in the 2025/26 season. The Slovenian striker is currently the player under the age of 23 to score the most goals in Europe in the last two seasons (39 goals after 87 matches), which is expected to be the key pointed nose under coach Ruben Amorim.
In the MU premiere, Sesko frankly said the reason for choosing MU instead of Newcastle: “For me, MU is really a great collective. In MU everyone tries to do better after each season. It is that culture that urged me to MU. At Old Trafford, there was a special energy source and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”
