Man City gave the club's No. 10 shirt to the rookie midfielder Rayan Cherki, after Jack Grealish moved to Everton.
On Tuesday, Greealish completed the one -season loan contract with Everton. The British midfielder admitted that he was “extremely happy when he signed a contract with Everton”, and the Merseyside team had the right to buy a 29 -year -old star in the summer of next year for £ 50 million.
The departure of Grealish caused the number of 10 shirts at Etihad to be left blank, and the club quickly confirmed the handling of this shirt to Cherki.
Cherki arrived at Etihad from Lyon early summer in the original value of £ 31 million (36.5 million euros). The French midfielder was originally awarded the number 29 shirt after joining the team, the number he also wore in Man City's Club World Cup campaign in the United States.
“I am very happy to wear the number 10. I was eager to play in Etihad and devoted to Man City,” Cherki shared after receiving the new shirt.
The former Lyon player will probably launch the number 10 shirt in the guest of Man City against Wolves this weekend. Pep Guardiola's army will start the journey to reclaim the Premier League championship on Saturday (August 16), with the match that takes place at 23:30 Vietnam time.
