Man City has been fined more than £ 1 million by the Premier League (US $ 1.34 million) for many times violating the starting time and restarting the match in the 2024/25 season.
Specifically, Man City acknowledged and apologized for 9 times violating the L.33 Charter of the Premier League, involving the start or restarting the late match during the season. The fine for each violation is increased gradually, with a total amount of up to 1.03 million pounds (1.38 million USD).
This is the second consecutive year Man City was fined for the same error. Previously, they were fined more than £ 2 million for 22 times violating the L.33 charter, including 8 times in the 2022/23 season and 14 times in the 2023/24 season.
The Premier League clearly stated in a notice: “The regulations related to the beginning and restarting the match help ensure the highest professional standards of the tournament and bring certainty to fans as well as the participating clubs. It also ensures that the matches are broadcast on schedule.”
This penalty is related to Man City's home matches against Southampton, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Man United, West Ham and Newcastle, along with the away matches against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Ipswich Town.
Notably, the Manchester derby between Man City and MU on December 15, 2024 was late at the beginning of the match and after the break between the half, with a total delayed time of up to 3 minutes 42 seconds.

- VS Tottenham (November 23): Late 1 minute 38 seconds – A fine of 60,000 pounds
- vs Nottingham Forest (December 4): 1 minute 59 seconds – A fine of 80,000 pounds
- vs Crystal Palace (December 7): 1 minute 29 seconds late – A fine of £ 100,000
- vs Man United (December 15): 3 minutes 42 seconds late – A fine of £ 125,000
- Vs Aston Villa (December 21): 2 minutes 9 seconds late – A fine of £ 125,000
- vs West Ham (January 4): Late 1 minute 42 seconds – A fine of £ 150,000
- vs Ipswich Town (January 19): 2 minutes 22 seconds late – A fine of 210,000 pounds
- vs newcastle (February 15): late 1 minute 42 seconds – fine 190,000 pounds
Under the disciplinary agreement announced by the Premier League, Man City will have to submit all the penalties within 14 days.
