Mason Greenwood reunited with 2 former MU teammates to practice in Manchester. Marseille's 23 -year -old striker spent the summer in England after scoring 22 goals under the guidance of former coach Brighton, Roberto de Zerbi.
The Ligue 1 season was not until mid -August that Greenwood once again returned home to join a harsh training session. This time, Greenwood not only has 1 but 2 former teammates of MU participated.
The first is midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who is still at Old Trafford and wants to win a major kick under Ruben Amorim. Greenwood's second friend James Garner, who was entering the fourth season at Everton after only 7 appearances for MU before leaving in 2022.
And this famous player has attracted attention at a training ground in Manchester. Greenwood hopes that further training during the summer vacation will help him improve his scoring achievement more in the next season.
A total of 22 goals of Greenwood in the 2024/25 season is obviously better than 10 goals scored when lending at Getafe in the 2023/24 season. And that number is 5 goals better than 17 goals scored when playing for MU in the 2019/20 campaign.
Coach De Zerbi said that Greenwood could be even more excellent. He said: “Greenwood is a congenital talent. All the merits belong to his parents. And I'm here to help him become more complete.”
“When he needs a hug, a encouragement, I am willing to let it. And when I need to motivate him to try harder, I have to do it too because it's my job.”
“I especially want to help him remember, at this stadium and by these fans, as one of the greatest players ever played at Velodrome. There were many great players here, but I think Greenwood has enough quality to remember that way. And I'm trying to help him progress.”
