Coach Mikel Arteta expressed that Viktor Gyokeres will explode, despite the poor launch of the Swedish striker at Arsenal in the defeat of Tottenham.
Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal rookie striker, had his debut in a 0-1 defeat to Tottenham, in Hong Kong, China. Pape Sarr scored the decisive goal from near the middle line for Tottenham, while Gyokeres only touched the ball in the new team debut, after being launched from the bench in the 77 minute.
It should be known, Gyokeres signed a contract with Arsenal for £ 63.5 million after a noisy transfer, including a tense confrontation between the Swedish player and the old Sporting Lisbon club. Arteta has finally gained its people and will be aiming for a new season with one of the most effective strikers in Europe to lead the attack. Gyokeres's debut may not be ideal, but certainly the best things are still ahead.
“I think Gyokeres will be very valuable. You will soon be able to see this soon. And when we face Villarreal, I am sure everything will be different,” Arteta said. The Gunners currently have two friendly matches with Villarreal and Bilbao to have more time to rub before the new season. Arsenal's 2025/26 Premier League will start with a trip to MU on August 17, where Gyokeres hopes to make a deeper impression than the debut before the season.
