MU successfully recruited striker Bryan Mbeumo. But this 25 -year -old star is not the last answer for the Red Devils' problem. Coach Ruben Amorim still needs more strikers.
As is known, MU has “closed the application” with Bryan Mbeumo. The Cameroon striker will join Old Trafford for a transfer fee of up to £ 70 million. It is an essential addition to that demon's attack, after the contract to strengthen personnel called Matheus Cunha.
Although MBEumo (and even Cute) are considered by experts to be quality contracts, but it is not the last answer for MU's attack problem. Coach Ruben Amorim still has worries. And maybe from now on until the summer transfer window 2025 closed, the Red Devils still need to buy more strikers.
The reason for saying that because both Cunha and Mbeumo are not the striker. They all have a forte to compete in No. 10. For example, the case of MBEumo. Many people are wondering whether Ruben Amorim will arrange the No. 10 stone, or turn him into a pure wing striker, to take advantage of the ability to surf, especially the very good dribbling skill of this rookie.
That means MU still has to play with the attack by Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee as “No. 9”. To a certain extent, both strikers did not satisfy MU fans, especially after unprecedented performances last season. In addition, Mr. Amorim can also take into account the ability to “make up” with Marcus Rashford and push him to the highest stone in attack.
But whether Hojlund, Zirkzee or Rashford plays the role of “No. 9”, the chosen person also needs to receive positive support from the rookie Cunha and Mbeumo. Because basically, all three strikers above are not in the type of striker who can create opportunities or often create booming moments. They all need the surrounding quality satellites to “pump the ball” or simply to disperse the concentration of the opponent.
Of course, with great ambition next season, MU will not bet “all” on erratic strikers like Hojlund or Rashford. Therefore, the possibility that they continue to buy a quality center in the near future is very high. In fact, the Manchester team once targeted a few targets, including the Viktor Gyokeres – the striker of Sporting Lisbon is also being closely followed by Arsenal.
Besides Viktor Gyokeres, MU is also targeting a series of other candidates. These include Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson striker, Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) and especially Benjamin Sesko – the striker impressing the Leipzig club last season and was highly appreciated by Ruben Amorim coach.
MU has ended the English Premier League season 2024/25 in the 15th place. One of the reasons why the Red Devils ranks is so low is the very effective competition. Specifically, the Manchester team only had only 44 times to tear the opponent's net – 8 more goals than the Ipswich relegation team. That is the reason why MU leader is forced to conduct a revolution in the attack.
Currently, besides the effort to recruit high -class strikers, starting to be Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the Manchester team also plans to liquidate the striker. The offensive stars are ready to “go on the floor” in this summer market including Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford. Even Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee may be for sale in the near future, if MU buys a satisfactory striker.
