The 3-4-2-1 squad that coach Ruben Amorim has completed the frame, and now only waiting for the last 3 pieces to MU has a satisfactory team for the Premier League 2025/26.
In the immediate future, MU is confident to complete the recruitment of striker Bryan Mbeumo after sending the third proposal to Brentford, with a total value of up to £ 70 million, including £ 65 million and £ 5 million.
MU has negotiated with Brentford for more than 6 weeks, and they are hoping for the third time to decide, especially after Mbeumo expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford from weeks ago.
After scoring 20 goals in the Premier League last season, Mbeumo will be the second “blockbuster” contract of MU this summer, after Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £ 62.5 million – the player scored 17 last season.
CuHa is expected to take on the role of 10 left in the 3-4-2-1 system of Amorim coach, while MBeumo is likely to be arranged at the number 10 right. However, thanks to the versatility, he can play in many different positions.
During the play for Brentford, Mbeumo was mainly a right wing player, famous for the cutting phase on the middle and taking advantage of the skillful left leg. Therefore, he can be used as a right-right midfielder or Wing-back must be in Amorim's diagram.
Amad Diallo, who played the impression last season, could also take on these two roles. If so, the competition between Amad and Mbeumo will create a depth of the squad and add “pleasant headache” for Amorim coach.
With Cunha almost certainly the main kick and Mbeumo will also receive the same priority if there is no problem in the transfer, the main squad of the MU season 2025/26 is gradually forming.
Even so, MU is currently looking for an additional striker, a central midfielder and a goalkeeper, meaning that they will have to sell the player to have funds to continue strengthening forces.
Despite being wavering, Andrre Onana is still expected to be MU's number one goalkeeper next season. The club still wants to recruit a goalkeeper to compete with Onana, but he believes he is still the first choice of Amorim.
In the defense, MU is having a good depth, and the performance in the pre -season period can decide who will play the opening match against Arsenal. Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven are considered the future of the Red Devils defense and is capable of taking on the role of defender, while Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire will compete for the central position.
If Mbeumo is used in attack, then Amad Diallo will be a reasonable choice for the Wing-back position after impressive performances last season. Patrick Dorgu, rookie from Lecce, is almost firm at the opposite wing and will aim to improve the performance next season.
After CuHa joined MU, Bruno Fernandes will likely be pushed down to the central midfielder (position No. 8), which is the role he used to be well undertaken in the second half of last season.
Players like Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer or Casemiro are competing for the main kick next to Bruno, but MU is still looking for a quality central midfielder even though the identity is still unclear.
The couple Mbeumo and Cunha will account for two positions No. 10 in the 3-4-2-1 diagram. Last season, Amorim faced a lot of difficulties in finding stability for these two positions, so it is likely that they will belong to new contracts.
The need for a true MU striker has been emphasized throughout the summer. They tried to recruit Liam Delap, but were “lifted” by Chelsea. Since then, the Red Devils have been contacted with names like Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen, but the chance of success is getting less and less.
However, ownership and MBeumo can help reduce the burden of scoring for the future of MU.
